About Blocknode, a GPU Powerhouse

Blocknode is a pioneering Web3 marketplace designed to connect GPU providers and users in a decentralized ecosystem. With Blocknode, AI companies, projects, and researchers gain access to enterprise-grade GPU instances at competitive prices, while GPU providers can maximize the utilization of their hardware by monetizing idle times.

Monetize Your GPU Idle Times by Earning LMWR Tokens

If you have GPU machines that are often underutilized, Blocknode offers a unique opportunity to turn those idle times into profit. By running AI workloads through Blocknode, you not only contribute to the global ecosystem but also generate additional revenue, making it a win-win situation for all involved.

Affordable Access to Premium GPUs

For AI companies, projects and researchers, Blocknode provides access to a wide range of enterprise GPU instances at competitive prices.

Flexible GPU Instances: On-Demand or Spot

Blocknode offers two types of GPU instances: On-demand and Spot. Choose On-demand for guaranteed access to GPU power, or opt for Spot instances to take advantage of lower costs when availability allows. This flexibility ensures that you can optimize your AI workloads to fit your budget and timeline.

Join the Future of AI Computing

Blocknode is redefining the way AI workloads are processed. Whether you’re operating a private cloud with available GPU resources and looking to maximize the potential of your hardware or a user in need of cost-effective GPU power, our decentralized platform offers the tools and resources to accelerate your AI projects.

Blocknode Ecosystem

The Blocknode ecosystem consists of five relevant components:

Blocknode Ecosystem

I) Web-2 GPU Customers

Blocknode’s mission is to make enterprise-grade GPUs affordable and accessible to everyone. For customers who prefer traditional web-2 onboarding, Blocknode offers a straightforward registration process. Companies, projects, or individuals can easily create a Blocknode account using an email login and credit card payment checkout. This web-2 onboarding model ensures that a wide range of users, regardless of their familiarity with blockchain technology, can access Blocknode's GPU resources without barriers.

II) Web-3 GPU Customers

Recognizing the growing importance of privacy and decentralization, Blocknode also provides an anonymous onboarding alternative tailored for web-3 customers. These users can connect their ERC-20 wallets (e.g., MetaMask) to access Blocknode’s services, enabling a secure and private onboarding process. Additionally, web-3 customers have the added benefit of discounted GPU prices when payments are made in $LMWR, the native LimeWire cryptocurrency and the backbone of the Blocknode network. This option not only enhances privacy but also promotes the use of decentralized finance (DeFi) tools and cryptocurrencies within the platform.

III) Spot & On-demand GPU instances

Blocknode offers flexibility in GPU access through two distinct options: on-demand and spot GPU instances. Web-2 and web-3 customers alike can choose on-demand GPU instances for guaranteed network access, ensuring that their AI workloads are executed without interruption. Alternatively, customers can opt for spot GPU instances, which are available at a lower cost if network availability permits. This dual option structure caters to both cost-sensitive users and those requiring guaranteed access, enhancing the platform's appeal to a diverse range of AI developers and researchers.

IV) The Blocknode Network

The Blocknode ecosystem is powered by a Web3 network built on the Binance Smart Chain (BNB). All GPU customer payments are pooled to fund the Blocknode smart contract, which orchestrates the execution of AI workloads. After the successful execution of workloads, the network calculates LMWR token rewards, which are then distributed to GPU providers. To ensure a sustainable rewards pool for GPU providers, Blocknode regularly performs buy-backs of LMWR tokens from the open market using the payments made by GPU customers. This innovative mechanism aligns the interests of GPU users and providers, fostering a vibrant and mutually beneficial ecosystem.

V) GPU Providers and Rewards

Blocknode distinguishes itself from other GPU marketplaces by offering AI companies, projects, and researchers the ability to monetize their GPU idle times. Due to the unpredictable nature of user traffic, nearly every enterprise running AI workloads ends up with unused high-performance GPUs during non-peak times, which can be as much as 90% of the time. These idle GPU instances represent a sunk cost for these companies. Blocknode provides a simple and effective way to monetize these otherwise wasted resources, significantly reducing GPU costs for enterprises.

GPU providers can join the Blocknode network anonymously by connecting a web3 wallet (e.g., MetaMask). After installing the Blocknode client and connecting their GPUs, they become eligible to receive frequent LMWR reward payments based on the computational resources they contribute to the network. This model not only creates an incentive for GPU providers to join Blocknode but also ensures a consistent supply of affordable GPU resources for all network users.

Roadmap and Timeline

Blocknode will go-live in four sequential phases:

PHASE I: Announcement & Waitlist

At Token2049 2024 in Singapore – the largest Web3 conference of the year – Blocknode was announced to the world. This included the publication of a detailed version of the Blocknode concept and network functionalities, as well as a waitlist for GPU users to sign up and get the chance for early access to affordable enterprise GPUs powered by Blocknode.

PHASE II: Enterprise GPUs

In early 2025, version 1 of the Blocknode network will be launched. With a focus on enterprise GPU instances, Web2 customers will be able to access high performance GPUs at a market competitive pricing. Payment will be focused on credit card checkouts.

PHASE III: Web3 Capabilities and Monetization of GPU Idle Times

Within 2025, Blocknode will extend its offering by launching Web3 capabilities for GPU customers, including anonymized logins, crypto payments and discounts for LMWR payments. AI projects and companies will be able to monetize their unutilized enterprise GPU resources by earning LMWR rewards.

PHASE IV: Retail GPUs

In the long-term, Blocknode will allow retail GPU providers to connect their gaming computers and graphic cards to the Blocknode network. Thus, expanding the network with lower-cost retail infrastructure and allowing everyday users to earn LMWR token rewards.
